Cabin Carved

I inherited a set of carving knives, bought some power tools and turned my storage shed into a tiny little workshop cabin. You would have found me hunched over the bench in here, sawdust in my hair, a podcast playing, turning some piece of wood into something (I think so anyways) beautiful. Then, my workspace became portable again and you could find me working in the back of the LDV cabin van, routering on the step with mountains and forests behind me as we wandered around Scotland.

These days, I have a slightly bigger, practical workspace in Moray. A handy space for making plenty of noise, make bigger pieces, and have a place for customers to collect their orders.

I’ve found myself naturally leaning into making signs surrounded by leafy designs, using rustic pieces of wood with lots of character. More recently, I’ve been inspired by traditional hand painted sing writing, and antique signs, finding ways to bring hints of those into my own work.

Signs can be custom made, just get in touch and we’ll chat about your ideas, and you can watch my processes over at @cabincarved
