Cabin Woven

I’d always wanted to be able to make things with my hands, and after quitting my job and moving into a van I realised I had enough time on my hands to be able to learn a new skill. I bought a tiny loom, and it all escalated from there. I started spinning my own yarn, and weaving everything from wool bookmarks up to hand spun, hand woven blankets. I was lucky enough to be featured in several books and write an article, ‘The Joy of the Plain Weave’ for the Ashford magazine ‘The Wheel’. My pieces were stocked in shops and businesses around the UK, which is something I’ll always be proud of. Working with wool helped me thrive creatively, and although it’s something I’m taking a long term break from now, will always be a skill I know will come in useful in later life at some point.
