Cabin Coffee

After settling onto a seasonal pitch on a campsite in the Cairngorms, we decided that the site and the general area could really use an adorable, tiny speciality coffee shop.

We turned a bright yellow horsebox that had previously been a mobile bakery into Cabin Coffee, a rustic coffee hub for locals and campers to visit after a walk through the surrounding woodland.

We were next door to a yurt, with a huge welcoming fireplace that gave our customers somewhere warm and sheltered to take their flat whites.

We served Birch coffee, roasted on the Isle of Skye, and locally baked treats. We also had a retail shelf that showcased our own handmade pieces alongside other local makers we’d met during our time in Aviemore.

Cabin Coffee was one of our favourite projects to date, giving us a way to meet a lot of new people, integrate ourselves into a community and really express our creativity. It’s hopefully a project that will find a way to come back for a second wind.
